6.6 million thank yous to the Ontario Lottery Gaming Corp for visiting the Hunt Club Riverside Park Community Centre yesterday.
This represents the City's share of proceeds from the Hard Rock Casino on Albion Road for 2025 that refurbish aged community centres across the city.

Stalled Road Construction on Fisher/McCooey

Per contractor: there is a design conflict with an existing Hydro duct. The Fed Govt is working with Hydro Ottawa on a modified design. Construction expected November 3.
Both lanes are open to traffic.

The City is installing a new crosswalk across Paul Anka Drive approx 160m west of the Paul Anka / McCarthy intersection.

This area has a high volume of pedestrians crossing the road to access McCarthy Park and the community centre.

A new rain garden at the Carleton Heights Comm Centre was installed last Friday.
Many thanks to our friends at the Enviro Centre, Carleton Heights Community Assn & the Centre for making this happen. What a great addition!

This morning, the Mayor and I welcomed the Minister of Sport, MPP Neil Lumsden to Carlington to announce an $8 million investment in our community to expand and renovate the Alexander Community Centre.
Final design consultation is expected this calendar year. Shovels will go in the ground in 2026.

The Ottawa Police is asking for the public’s help in locating a 25-year-old, Ntemo Ogeara.
Ntemo was last seen in the Carling/Merivale area at approx noon today.
He is described as Black, 6’1”, 221 lbs & with short dark curly hair.

It was a pleasure to welcome Minister Jill Dunlop to City Hall today, with thanks to Mayor Sutcliffe for hosting the venue.

We discussed the newly created Emergency Preparedness Ministry and how the City of Ottawa and Ministry can work together to better prepare our citizens.

Heron Road Bridge collapse, 9 dead, dozens injured

In 2016, City Council unanimously endorsed my motion to rename the bridge the Heron Road Workers Memorial Bridge.

We will never forget.
