I was having a terrible Sunday but I ended up calling a friend and spending the second half of the day in an antique mall with her and it was such random fun, I loved it!

…I thought she was trying to put me up at someone’s house. But no, her friend ran a bed & breakfast down the road. This was the view from my balcony there. So that worked out nicely.

I hiked for hours. I thought about giving up a few times. But I’m glad I kept going because this was my reward. Hands down one of the best hikes I’ve ever done. To be able to sit in near solitude and soak this in—it was amazing. 🤩

So my trailhead friend and I met this older man who said he had been hiking this area for 50 years. He recommended an alternate trail. I had the map downloaded already so we both went for it.

Armed with coffee and a few groceries, I drove past mills and mines and the cutest little town I’ve ever seen but can’t name. I bounced over miles of dirt road to get to an out of the way hiking spot.

After the diner, I found a drive-thru coffee shack with a million delicious choices. The friendly barista there told me to think of my favorite candy bar if I got overwhelmed. He whipped me up a blended oat milk Reese’s coffee.

Gail recommended this diner up the street for breakfast. At the diner I met a sweet man who told me all about his tablet when he saw me open up my iPad. The view was amazing, the food was perfectly greasy, and it was just lovely.
