Finally got round to reading this fantastic book 'Robin Prytherch: A Life with Buzzards' compiled and edited by Lyndon Roberts. I was lucky enough to meet Robin once at the 2019 BTO conference. A beautiful book celebrating buzzards and a lovely gentleman. #birds #books #art

Local patch Craig-yr-Hesg LNR #Pontypridd with bluebells looking resplendent in today's sunshine. Blackcap, willow warbler, chiffchaff singing. Blue tits on eggs & great tits with chicks. Magical 💚

Earliest circular piece is one attached. I've simplified the birds over time. I also use a compass now to ensure that each layer of the circle covers roughly the same space. For this first piece I used a protractor for the inner circle only and built up the other layers with no parameters drawn.

Hi, no prisms or mirrors. Completely accidental. I love the work of Escher and particularly like patterns. I was playing about with some ideas for a different pattern and stumbled across this format. Early pieces started with working out a template for the bird and tweaking to fit angle of circle.
