Your friendly neighborhood indie game dev dad.
I like that too!! In English so many of our words are borrowed so we’ve lost the original meaning. It makes other languages sound unusually literal.

I love that! It is basically a smaller groundhog which I am guessing you also don’t have?

This is a particularly unflattering picture of a gopher lol.

It’s definitely a large rodent! Beaver is super close.

I just started using this today after you asked your question! I have about 30 right now, because I just got a desk. 😀

Super cool! I have probably picked up my phone a couple dozen times during the breaks and it's making realize how habitual/automatic my phone use it.

I think name tags are a good idea, and they look good! And hey, maybe someone will stream this game and the name tags will help an audience member who didn’t see the character get introduced keep up. :)

They are both awesome! I prefer the pixel art style.

I suppose we do agree! You could check the horizontal and vertical distance traveled as well as time and don’t allow the jump if the delay is too long or the distance from the normal cliff is too great, I love it!

To me the spirit of it is just making that sweet spot of the “last chance” to jump have a few extra pixels of wiggle room. If the jump is so hard that you have to abuse it or even be aware of it, it’s not doing its job properly.

They help me live vicariously through little pixel dudes 😅 Much like books, they’re not just an escape but an opportunity to have wonderfully crafted and curated experiences that would be challenging or impossible in real life in the comfort of your home.

It’s the poor man’s double jump!
