im working on becoming a better storyteller. a lot of that for me has looked like getting really disgustingly honest with the things i cant allow to roam freely around in me--how to give birth to my tenderness and volatility over and over

overexplaining or writing bc u think u owe ur readers something is disingenuous and your readers can feel it. u have to return to the truth and remember that the people who are interested in your work are interested in work that comes from the you-iest you there is. not the “you” u think they want.

it’s a disservice to your Body and to your readers to try and force writing from yourself when you’re not feeling it. as a writer, part of moving beyond your people pleasing holding patterns, is imbuing your readers with the trust to feel your words and do the work of understanding you themselves.

whats wild to me is that back in 2017 zuckerberg opposed trump in his ban on trans ppl joining the military? not that zuck was ever an ally but im like---what in the pupeteering fuck happened for that relational shift?

commenting on something happening in some corners of tiktok right now but this is a general observation: it is absolutely brain-breaking how so many people have lost the ability to disagree with someone without denouncing them as ontologically evil or pathological or whatever else
