I really hope they let you connect a regular keyboard and mouse as an accessibility feature but that might be wishful thinking

They just wanted to add apple intelligence to all their non entry level devices so they did the bare minimum to keep the mini alive

I do see the settings for UI scale that is odd. I do use displayport via my kvm switch, maybe it depends on if you use dp and it runs at a higher res or not
For an older monitor I used to use this to get scaling system on MacOS for it, maybe you can try to see this helps

Have the same exact monitor, works like a charm on macos haha
Although for full 240hz will need to go m4 but 120 has been plenty for me
