Microsoft's constant bullshit is the number one reason to try Linux. Just a little Ubuntu install running in a partition on your existing hard drive. Give it a go, watch some videos to help you out, it's low stakes.

You could fully buy a used Piaggio Ape or many 4 wheeled vehicles for the price of one of these, but may I recommend the Surly Big Easy or similar cargo E-bike.
