Initial build complete. I really like the new parts added to the 1.5 and the overall design, but am not a fan of the ball joint hips and the side skirts. Maybe I’ll hold off on paint and think about modifying it?

Agreed. Overflag is really cool. Flags in general are cool. Imo, they fall into that somewhat plausible mech design that gundam sometimes passes over

I just saw your follow up. It’s nice that they kept it separate, but yeah, the Assault Shroud requires modification or it severely limits shoulder movement.

Are the shoulders one piece or is the armor shroud bit removable?

Oh, I agree it shouldn’t be needed at all. Bandai or whoever should know better by now.

That said, the Akatsuki is one of my favorites, so I might shell out anyways.

I think I’ve seen some talk of 3rd party replacement pieces to fix the bad joints, but I don’t have anything solid.

I did. They look super interesting, but I need to hold back a little. My backlog is already on the verge of unmanageable as it is lol.
