Pretty certain that this was meant to be an anti-zionist message, despite the "full Hitler" claim... The media is taking this whole thing out of context. The fact that the swastika stars were drawn in Benjamin Netanyahu's eyes is sort of an important detail.

Gavin Newsom hasn't called Trump the N-Word yet, nor the F-Slur, so no... None of the spineless Democrats meet my criteria for road rage rhetoric.

...No. I'm not satisfied until I see a Democrat politician/candidate throwing real insults at Donald Trump and his administration, as well as the Christian extremists trying to destroy freedom in this country. I want to see road rage level rhetoric.

None of these arguments make sense and are based on skepticism and assumptions rather than outcomes.

The "good faith" arguments against trans youth rights tend to be:
A) I think I know other people's bodies better than they do or the scientists that study them.
B) There isn't enough data to support that transitioning at a young age is healthy.
C) Children are being coerced into transitioning.

Yeah, this article hit a little too close to home for me. I wish artists were vocal about this kind of shit (both the local and national threats to LGBTQ+ people) but they stay silent for the money.

I'm not certain, but it's probably because nobody in the scene with a platform is talking about this: www.propublica.org/article/matt...

It gets sorta muddy when complextro, blog house, and electro house all overlap upon each other on the venn diagrams.

Yeah, if you hadn't found an insurance in this case I would have just suggested flying down to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. Some surgeries just aren't worth it in the US even with insurance.

Mark Zuckerberg had to BUY Instagram because he made FB so toxic that an entire younger generation left it and their families eventually followed. 😅

I think Mark Zuckerberg could be getting too close to the sun again though, myself and many others are no longer using any Meta platforms.

Twitter was already well known for being a toxic app, and now we have the most toxic man in the world pulling its strings. The majority of cool and fun people (musicians and artists) have left there so it doesn't serve its purpose anymore for myself and many others.
February 8, 2025 at 4:17 AM
You're acting like these social media sites are permanent institutions, when many platforms that have come and gone have been passing trends. I'd rather be an accelerationist and allow these apps to turn into cesspools that scare the masses away from handing money to tech oligarchs.

They have been detaining them because they couldn't differentiate them from Mexicans. They have let em go in all the cases so far though, after around 2 hours of waiting and questioning.

Yeah, I'd never heard the word "smurfing" before. 😅

Looked it up and realized what you were actually trying to communicate lol.

I can agree that the industry nepotism and gatekeeping does suck though. Underground artists should be welcomed by labels and fairly compensated for their work. People that take advantage of underground artists for money should definitely be ashamed of themselves.
February 1, 2025 at 2:44 AM
It's not intentionally helping the underground, but it leaves room for the creative people in the scene to get noticed.

It's so easy to tell who is in it for the music vs. the money, but the average dubstep listener doesn't have the brain capacity to differentiate.

2) It's not that hard to make interesting, forward-thinking music if you are already good at production. The difference between "basic" and "boundary-pushing" is all in the little details... It can even come down to something as small as a snare choice.
