Announcing Opportunity’s Build’s first-ever high school cohort!! 🥳

From April through August 2025, Opportunity Build will welcome a targeted cohort of high school seniors and recent graduates into a combined after school and summer program. Graduates will receive their MC3 certification and more!

“You want to talk about a class of hustlers? This is it,” shared our Opportunity Build Senior Program Manager at our Winter Cohort graduation last Friday. We’re so proud of this group, who had record numbers placed in jobs even before finishing the cohort. Drop them a congrats in the comments!

California has ambitious decarbonization goals, but to meet those goals requires a highly trained workforce to build the infrastructure of the green transition. At the CEC’s recent electrification summit, they tapped Rising Sun’s expertise in training the clean energy workforce of the future.

Rising Sun’s Oakland HQ officially has EV chargers!! 🥳 This has been a dream for so long, and as of this week we now have FIVE charging ports where staff and program participants can charge up their vehicles for free! ⚡⚡⚡

A big thanks to GRID Alternatives and partners who helped make this happen!

Last year Rising Sun provided 2,253 homes in the Bay Area and Stockton with Green House Calls! 🏠

That amounts to:

🚿 24.5 MILLION gallons of water saved
🤯 3.3K CO2 emissions prevented from entering the atmosphere
🤑 2 MILLION DOLLARS saved on utility bills
