I have played women's roller derby for over a decade and shared women's changing rooms with cis and trans women and a) this has been entirely normal and unremarkable and b) if anyone tries to stop any of our teammates using our changing room they'd have to make all of us.

Yesterday I did my first working-from-patio day of the year. This morning I have a day off work and am enjoying coffee with bee-flies on the honesty.

Absolute scenes in Ramsgate photographed for #GullsEatingStuff.
Also saw my first Swallows of the year and chatted to lovely people at the South East Ringers' conference, great to stay at the Sandwich Bay bird observatory too.

2) 'Pollarded', not that you should do that to apple trees, a huge beautiful apple tree on the edge of the site.

3) Hacked to the ground, today, nesting season, the bramble patch at the end of (and I think on) my plot.

All of this in the name of health and safety. He is deaf to reason.

I have acquired a new arch enemy in the form of the new secretary of my allotment site.

In the last few weeks, he has
1) Ordered me to remove the trampoline my kids play on (semi fair enough, but the allotments are massive and half unused and the trampoline has caused no problems for 4 years)

Invited myself along to the NE Norfolk &Suffolk area team day at Shimpling Park Farm; lovely to learn about LNRSs and Landscape Recovery projects, meet colleagues, enjoy sunshine, see tiny hazel flowers and hear my first and second Chiffchaffs of the year.

New year's resolution is more outdoor swimming, and make it up to the sea more often. Been twice in 2025 so far including at Sheringham so it's going well

Had to stop the car to take a picture of over 50 Egyptian Geese in a Norfolk field, not sure I've seen that many together before

Dragged the kids away from Saturday TV to get some winter sun on the shortest day, they complained and then loved it

Time to start the Christmas holidays! I've got as far as I can get on my current project, and I've been saving this special beer from a lovely colleague to mark the occasion.

Things I Saw While Out Running Today:
- 2 escaped pigs (cute)
- 1 still flooded footpath (annoying)
- 6 dumped pheasants (at least eat them come on)
- 2 dumped mallards, plucked? (what is that about)

Frosty corncockle seed heads on my extremely 'rewilded' allotment. Looking forward to the Christmas break and getting some time there

Today I didn't sleep through my alarm and got out to my gym class. Hope this is auspicious for the week ahead, going to be a busy one.

Hello bluesky. Not much blue sky in this corner of Thetford Forest for today's forest school (kids go to forest school, i go for a nature walk/run) but I did see a raven and this slime mould. I occasionally share minor nature enjoyment but mainly here to keep up with conservation news.
