Where would you see a series about wine getting 40+ vols or a manga abt a tradditional card game being one of the most popular stories for women audiences.
Japan’s great at making learning fun, they’re usually good at researching & portraying their subjects accurately too.

Also I don’t take people who only talk negatively about queer romance manga seriously because they don’t like yuri, they don’t like BL, and they *never* highlight queer platonic series or any manga series with LGBTQA+ creators so what exactly are they reading.

If I didn’t read manhwa, I wouldn’t have found so many gems, including Our Sunny Days.
One of the best series I’ve read in my life is an omegaverse, and some of my favorites are horror/dark/toxic romance.
If I listened to what haters said, I wouldn’t have found them.

But what if you end up not liking it? Then you’re either dropping it too soon to get to “the good part” or wasted your time for nothing.
A lot of people aren’t looking to commit right away, longer series just mean it’s slower for beginners to get to the next series on their list.

I mean, it’s def different if you followed a series when it had 50 vs 100 volumes.
Taste is subjective, the time invested isn’t. I think if you’re getting into this hobby as an adult, it’s more efficient for people to be able to sample a variety of stories, most manga now aren’t long anyways.
