I may be wrong but it seems... unlikely for the people who caused the problem to fix the problem, especially when a lot of the most powerful members of that group are actively benefiting from continuing to cause that problem.

if that was the case, the tech industry would not fight these sorts of laws tooth and nail every time they come up. opening them up to liability like this would lead to an inundation of lawsuits from copyright holders.

§230 is the only thing that allows google, meta et al to make their billions. without it, they'd be legally held responsible for content hosted on their platforms and would be required to manually moderate every single upload or render their own platform useless to consumers. it's an empty threat.
