It really should be stressed that Genshin had the option to sign a simple “No AI” agreement - no involvement from any union, outside of any strike situation - and they said no.

They've refused to sign a blanket "no AI" agreement put forth by the cast (before the strike, unrelated to any union stuff), it seems that they want the freedom to use AI, perhaps with consent and compensation. If that's the case, what luck! Because that's exactly what our interim agreement covers.

Further clarification: the AI Rider that they’re referencing (the NAVA AI Rider) would have allowed the game to stay non-union, but with AI protections. Protections that, in my humble opinion, are not strong enough for a game of this magnitude, but protections nevertheless. Hoyo *still* refused.
