So, he wants subsidies, that will go into people's accounts, so they can buy insurance on the marketplace? Do... do I have that correct?

And the same morons that believe the deals he "renegotiated" are his will also believe he did this.

But look! He looks so concerned! Clearly he loves us and is working for our good!

Please. His right hand man voted yes. This is entirely identifying the least at risk people to reopen the government back room dealing. As someone else said, he's either so incompetent he can't rally a quarter of his troops, or he's a manipulative weakling. Neither is a good look.

I really wonder what Silver has in his closet that he leapt on the MAGA bandwagon as hard as he did.

But hey, their kids will be able to fly home for Thanksgiving, so the important goal was achieved...
November 10, 2025 at 7:56 PM
Thank God. I've long felt he's one of the good guys. Kelly all the way.
November 10, 2025 at 6:17 PM
The silence from everyone else is deafening, though. They may not have voted for him, but by not pushing for a leadership change, they're just as complicit.

Man, electing weak-willed babies doesn't show Mainers in their best, true, hearty colors.
November 10, 2025 at 3:47 PM
Staging this to ensure only those not up for reelection vote yes doesn't preclude us from primarying every single one of them up in 2026 who doesn't immediately push for a leadership change.
November 10, 2025 at 3:31 PM
Are they stupid? Do they actually think the people who sucked it up for 40 days will think anything other than it was all for nothing? The absolute disconnect with reality is staggering. They're taking advice from the same disasters that lost them the last election.
November 10, 2025 at 2:58 PM
Yep, same with the last CR. This was a back office deal and unless D senators immediately and publicly move to replace him, they all need to be primaried. Those up next year especially.
November 10, 2025 at 2:56 PM
The people who suffered the last 40 days suffered for nothing. There's no coming back for the Dems. The people whose support they most needed, they just sold up the river. Poor people have now been told by both sides that no one cares about them.

We'd better get the Epstein files with this.
November 10, 2025 at 5:47 AM
It was working just fine. Maine needs to take the trash out.
November 10, 2025 at 5:44 AM
I agree. I'm just so upset, and disappointed, and, like, what's the point of anything anymore. We probably won't even get the Epstein files out of this either. Millions uninsured, everyone's costs going up. Just. Devastating.
November 10, 2025 at 5:43 AM
Too bad the Senate fucked the whole thing up.
November 10, 2025 at 5:40 AM
This group made me hit the one point I didn't think I'd ever hit. Mayne Trump needed to be elected, so we could see how much of a disaster the federal government actually is. Maybe making ordinary people reach the burn it down phase will result in a better long term government. No more complacency.
November 10, 2025 at 5:34 AM
Not just them. This was likely a concerted effort to allow just enough senators who aren't up anytime soon to take the hit for the establishment. They're all to blame at this point. Clean slate.
November 10, 2025 at 4:45 AM
I'd like to give this the benefit of the doubt that it's about air traffic and SNAP, but I know you're right. We gave them a sweep and they gave us the middle finger.
November 10, 2025 at 4:44 AM
Virginia, I know he's got a bit, but he just undid all the work you just did. Please remember this.
November 10, 2025 at 4:25 AM
No, not in the least. Senate Democrats have, for the most part, been establishment trash for at least two decades. Spineless weasels only interested in enriching themselves. @smith.senate.gov, one of the good ones, is not running again. A sure sign of the futility of the good fight within them.
November 10, 2025 at 3:37 AM
Schumer, eroding the faith in Democrats one CR at a time. This went from a solidly R shutdown to an entirely D one with them making people suffer just to cave at the last minute. He's just cost the Democrats the midterms. May he rot in hell.
November 10, 2025 at 3:31 AM
I don't get it. Trump may have Supreme Court sponsored immunity, but none of the rest of them do. Given what he did to the last cabinet, what do these guys think is going to happen?
November 8, 2025 at 5:13 PM
What does she think the "New" means?!?
