Bracklesham Bay, south of England, taken by me in February 2025. Rocky coast of West Sussex under a gloomy overcast February sky. The tide is low and the beach is littered with rocks smoothed over to perfection by eons of waves, interspersed with millions upon millions of tiny fossilised remains of creatures that have been dead for longer than the oldest human idea. The sun would have liked to make an appearance through the clouds, but there were too many thoughts in the air, it was too thick with existential ponderings. And also humidity, it was raining.

A drawing of my original characters Ju and Cal, embracing as they're saying goodbye. Ju is a blue half-orc sporting a long undercut tied up with string, and he's wearing a sleeveless top that shows off his strong shoulders. Ju's hands are cupping Cal's cheeks as he holds their foreheads close, his dark blue bangs falling onto on Cal's head. Their eyes are closed. Cal's short pink hair and elf ears are illuminated from behind by a warm firelight; he is holding onto Ju's arm and whispering "Just come back soon, okay?" A drawing of Otabek Altin and Yuri Plisetsky from Yuri on Ice!!! dancing in their Welcome to the Madness outfits: Yuri is wearing a glittery black torn up sleeveless top, black leather pants, black fingerless gloves covered in glitter, and heavy smokey eyes, while Otabek is wearing a leather jacket, grey t-shirt, jeans, and black fingerless gloves without glitter. If I remember right I was using tango references for their pose. Yuri is leading and he's holding Otabek by his waist while Otabek is leaning back over Yuri's thigh, and holding onto Yuri's shoulder, his shirt riding up from the friction to reveal his bellybutton. Sorry this description is a mess, I'm not very good at writing proper alt text or verbally describing my drawings! Another drawing of Otabek Altin and Yuri Plisetsky from Yuri on Ice!!! in which Otabek is embracing Yuri and kissing his cheek so hard one of Yuri's eyes is squished shut, while Yuri is grinning and flipping the viewer off. Otabek is wearing a leather jacket, and what can be seen of Yuri shows off a rolled up white sleeve, purple sunglasses on his head, and black nailpolish. Yuri's hair is long and tied back in a messy ponytail. I still love them, to this day.

All of these were drawn with a combination of fudenosuke calligraphy pens, a pentel pocket brush, a pentel grey ink aquash, and a pentel fude brush pen (not pictured for whatever reason)

It felt soooo nice to not be under the pressure of coming up with entire illustrations every day of inktober and instead to just... doodle. Like, for fun! Can you imagine, drawing for fun? I forgot what that was like, for the longest time.
