Stay-at-home dad, formerly a philosopher and reviewer mostly of mobile strategy games.m. Been living in Rochester, NY about 20 years. Beware the lure of outrage.
I played Blood Bowl in high school, and found it ponderous. Tried the video game versions—same thing. Blitz Bowl is where it’s at. I get that.

But the third season edition they just announced has somewhat interesting humans facing off against Tomb Kings, and just look at these minis:

I made a thing to amuse myself. Feel free to use it for any non-commercial purpose.

I love the way these two geniuses intersperse grooming in their play-fighting. Makes me think there ought to be a brand of gay porn called “Just Rasslin’”.

Why is there no cat toy so enthralling as a litter box lid when it isn’t on the litter box?

Now I’m wondering if ent > tree dork > tree geek > trees was the genesis of this fella.

Idly wondered what a graffiti artist looking to gently poke fun at our non-threatening outrages would put on a train. I'm sorry for this:

One of our pet rabbits died today, and, while that’s obviously sad, it happened as well as it possibly could have. She lived long, and her illness was very brief and not obviously painful.

Photo is her on a leash, meeting the partner of her last few years.

Farewell, best bunny.

I must confess, I bought tiramisu flavored soda hoping to bond with my kids about how awful it was, and am kind of sad that I think it’s not bad at all. Imagine some coffee and cocoa undertones to a vanilla cream soda.

The kids are bonding over how awful *I* am now.

I have lots of options for features I could add, but I finally got the surface of my game table topper truly “done” tonight, and played on it. Microfiber glued to 3mm neoprene, with an oak surround. It’s very pleasant.

The first time in my life I ever saw a flying squirrel, and it was in my family room.

I painted these terminators as kids in cardboard armor with nerf guns. Execution is fine for a tabletop, and they make me smile.

Not my usual genre at all, but Mark Rylance in Wolf Hall is incredible, and the episode in which he suffers a personal tragedy (3 or 4) comes to mind as a strong contender for the best episode I’ve ever seen.

What’s your “no one but me remembers” this game?

Robo Pit for PS1. I remember it as simple and silly, but with enough customization and tactics to be tremendous fun. Probably my favorite PvP experience on the console—good times with my brother.

I’ve painted my first Terminators in 30 years. I tried to imagine them as kids pretending to be space marines, with nerf guns and armor made from cardboard boxes, because I love the models, but I also love ridiculing fascist violence fantasies. And kids are awesome.

I eat two foods which gross out my kids: Ritz Crackers, crushed, in milk, and leftover lentil soup combined with leftover mac & cheese.

PSA for digital boardgamers who also volunteer with their local PTA or the like: despite appearances, signupgenius comments do not give you one corruption.
