Maybe an unpopular opinion, but I really do love winter. I think it can be incredibly beautiful. Case in point, my car this morning before I headed off to work.

Another project I’ve started - My first #quilt. I haven’t done anything with it in a while, because I am worried the colours won’t work and the layout isn’t as good as it could be.

I often find ways to procrastinate when I am taking on a new project. Today, I’m going to put that worry away.

After quite a few months, I’ve reached about 90% completion of my coffee table/model train set. It is made from maple and walnut, with plexiglass sides and top. It’s about 80 percent scrap wood, and bits and pieces I found at thrift stores over the years. I’m really happy with it.

Dragon Age: The Veilguard is possibly the most beautiful, story-oriented game I’ve ever played. While it is a wonderful fantasy adventure, the story has a poignancy I would have never expected - it deals with questions of gender identity, love, loss, regret, wisdom, and strength.

I just got my copy of the core rulebook for the new #Discworld RPG. Just had to share the best two lines I’ve ever seen in an instruction manual, distinguishing the idea of your character dying versus the anthropomorphic personification of death.

My new winter train set. Just in the process of roughly sculpting the snowy landscape with a combination of Styrofoam, sculptamold and acrylic paste.

I haven’t gotten a game magazine in years, despite still being an active gamer in my 50’s. Then it occurred to me, the last magazine I subscribe to for gaming was “Nibble” - 1980-1992. It often had a game program in Basic that you could transcribe onto your computer. Image from Wikipedia.

Just finished painting and installing a lovely 3-D print that I found online. It is a headphone hanger, but the back plate is a shield of Gondor. I painted and blended browns for the wood plank effect, copper for the stars, and metal pigments for the tree and banding.

This is a sky that holds the portent of storms, of winter weather. My Canadian soul still thinks of this is beautiful weather. But, after the 12.6 cm of snow we got over the weekend, and then more snow and potentially freezing rain and ice tomorrow, I respect the power of Mother Nature.
Cloudy sky covering the sun it is muted in its brightness. Telephone poles and cable are in the forefront of the picture and kicking you off into the distance as the wires travel down the roadway. The little bit of ground visible is covered in snow, in some places almost a foot deep Due to the wind piling it up.

Working today on installing a display area & lighting for the gunstar model from The Last Starfighter. I built this because my father loved the movie. He passed in 2020, & I wanted to have this on prominent display because I think he would’ve loved to see it. #sci-fi, #thelaststarfighter, #family

Snowy. Just a snowy walk. Did I mention snow? We’re looking at another 5 to 10 cm later today. Snow.

Although, I will confess … I actually really like the snow. So, this is my fun time in the morning. Getting my steps in, and Vibing with winter‘s dandruff.
