..And you may ask yourself, "Well, how did I get here?”
Short term they’re only looking at Reform & doing an obviously flawed calculation that their votes can be more or less united into a winning mass

It’s also v comfortable to just keep talking to the UKIP/Reform ‘defectors’
February 21, 2025 at 2:39 PM
In any event, it’s those opposed who all the parties are focussed on and fearful of spooking or giddy at wooing
December 12, 2024 at 6:40 AM
Even if they do, sets up brutal Feb with play off legs either side of Newcastle, after Arsenal & before Liverpool
December 11, 2024 at 11:27 PM
They are what you might expect, with the clear appearance being that holding some views favourably doesn’t mean it leads to vote switching

Maybe it’s not just about associating strongly with those views for parties, they need opponents to be completely disassociated from them too to have impact?
December 10, 2024 at 2:32 PM
Not even that, it’s bad juvenile logic that associates policy advocacy of ‘No Deal’ with potential harm as warned by medical unions (so not even an actual policy that happened & an actual harm) as warranting arrest, prosecution & imprisonment

It’s completely silly
December 10, 2024 at 2:24 PM
This is deranged nonsense
December 10, 2024 at 2:18 PM
Trend more popular with supporters of those parties yes, but not exclusive values/ideologies to those parties & maybe not so strongly held as views or strongly associated with particular parties that would lead people to switch their voting based on them. Eg Greens nowhere near government
December 10, 2024 at 2:05 PM
It’s beyond that

There’s an element where these can be more about values than political associations & plenty wouldn’t see a contradiction between being a conservative & a feminist or environmentalist
December 10, 2024 at 11:54 AM
He’s playing ok to well in general, but isn’t even getting into many positions to score when he never used to struggle with that

Is it slower build up & fewer direct counters & opps to be on end of, team not playing him in when open, him shying away from scoring positions, or some combination?
December 5, 2024 at 3:15 PM
It’s probably about 1.5% of all boys born to get to number 1
December 5, 2024 at 1:20 PM
Indeed. Patience required

Pretty convinced a striker will change this summer, not sure 2

Most alarming thing about Darwin currently is trending to 1 xG in 5 games over long time, with his conversion needs to be all but 1/1 to be effective

Jota at diff crossroads, 28, 2y left, poor availability
December 5, 2024 at 11:45 AM
Just looking at the top line, there’s no £ reason for Liverpool not to spend big in 3 or 4 positions over next two windows

As ever it seems, agreeing on who that should be & why will be main factor
December 5, 2024 at 11:01 AM
Not uncommon, LDs tend to attract some habitual opportunists along with the Birkenstocks, a potentially easier party to rise to the top within
December 3, 2024 at 3:27 PM
Tbf it was you that engaged with my observation, I didn’t chase you with it. All good
December 2, 2024 at 6:59 PM
Not trying to

Just an observation on a better deployment of a controversial pardon that could have saved all this and more
December 2, 2024 at 5:19 PM
All the more reason to consider he’d have been open to a deal with that much potential liability. As it was the call was made to pursue him for whatever could stick & one of Trump’s main defence options was therefore getting back in the WH & the immunity that follows from there.
December 2, 2024 at 3:12 PM
Let who threaten their way to office?

Biden hardly displaying moral leadership or respect for rule of law here

Point is instead of pursuing Trump, turning him into a victim, & fearing reprisals or same for him, he could have avoided all this & ended Trump era with little fuss
December 2, 2024 at 1:37 PM
Yep, play back last season from here for example (ie the claim Liverpool will fall in the same way)

City got 62 from 25 (19-5-1), would mean 85 this season
Arsenal 59 (19-2-4), so 84
Liverpool 54 (16-6-3), so 88

64 points is City & Liv in 21/22 or Liv 18/19 Level & still not 90 for Arsenal
December 2, 2024 at 12:10 PM
cf actual conviction Trump got in NY.

The bottom line here is Biden potentially fearing Trump’s DOJ & Republicans would pursue his family as Democrats did Trump after the last election
December 2, 2024 at 10:31 AM
Distinction being he’s not actually a politician, however this is squinting as the real political angle was trying to find/create some smoking gun link between HB vast success as a lobbyist & businessman with his Father’s political positions
December 2, 2024 at 10:25 AM
A deal that gave him a pardon & immunity in return for not running again would have been hard to turn down, he’s completely transactional

Biden & Democratic Party misread 2020 & miscalculated this among other issues, so have now let Trump back in with more power & grievances
December 2, 2024 at 10:22 AM
To your general point, the one actual criminal conviction for falsifying business records on NDA payment wouldn’t have been pursued against anyone else, but was motivated by Democrat prosecutors looking for partisan revenge or advantage

It was Republican’s Bill Clinton overreach replayed
December 2, 2024 at 10:19 AM
He’s have been sitting in Florida trying to enrich himself, pardoned for his role in Jan 6, not running

Completely disagree that all these cases averted a civil war. Why? What they did do was compel him to run again & successfully play the victim
December 2, 2024 at 10:12 AM
It’s what Biden should have done in 2021, complete pardon & you just go away

Instead they went out to chase him for anything minor or major, thinking that was somehow popular or how to end him.

Actually compelled Trump to run again & Dems assumed he’d have no chance cos cases & charges etc
December 2, 2024 at 9:55 AM
Irony of course being that decision came about as a result of decisions to pursue Trump, & even his own decision to run again being motivated in part by need to avoid those charges

V possible a 2021 pardon could have ended Trump era, but JB & Dems misread 2020 result as a moral judgement on Trump
