Defunding public media doesn’t punish NPR—it guts the emergency lifelines. AM/FM radio remains the most reliable medium in a crisis (FCC, 2018). When a hurricane floods a Gulf Coast town, or a Tribal community issues evacuation orders, some people will turn their dials and hear only static.

Happy Mother's Day to the Eldest Daughters of Immigrant Families! You are the bridge between generations, the interpreters of language & culture & the quiet strength guiding your families. In many homes, you became a third parent before you had the chance to just be a child. Honoring you today! ♥️

My kiddo's latest piece in reaction to everything that's going on. So proud of his art and then this also wrecks me completely...which is what art is supposed to do. May we continue to celebrate and hold space for the creativity of the human spirit. ♥️

My friend, Rima Dael, the CEO of the National Fed. of Community Broadcasters, makes a powerful case for supporting public media, but also all investments for the public good. A very important read. www.radioworld.com/columns-and-...

I wrote an Op-Ed piece featured in Current! We cannot forget that the heart of public media are the small stations around the country that our communities depend on, especially in times of emergencies. current.org/2025/01/why-...
Why advocacy for CPB funding must include our smaller community-based stations
Defunding CPB would devastate smaller stations, particularly those reliant on critical systems like the Public Radio Satellite System, the Emergency Alert System and SoundExchange agreements.
