But idk, should we all stop using phones and emails to communicate with each other just because we put delivery pigeon trainers out of jobs? Theres a LOT of advancements that both put people out of jobs but also created billions more

The time, I understand ur worldview and point but this is one of the first times where iv been in proximity to an industry/people in an industry where advancement is possibly career ending

Tbh I just dont know a lot about a lot of industries, having worked in mainly service and wildlife and animal care there isnt a whole lot thats ‘taken over by technology’ and tbh with service work I didnt wanna be doing it anyways 😭

Quite literally any other field of work. A lot of jobs in the future will most likely stop existing as we advance as a society, but that doesnt have to actually be a bad thing bc completely new fields and new jobs would also be made, and again I think supporting people to be able to work on their

You mentioned security jobs in your other reply, with advancements pushing people out, tbh I think a lot of industries wouldnt really exist if we did just support everyone in their lives, careers and ambitions. Bc who is inspired to work at hungry jacks for $19 an hr when they can be doing

Gen AI could have been a tool for artists definitely with some tweaks but the main issue is it is being used as a final product hence jobloss
So no one can really ethically use it

Why would a corporation go to these artists and pay them for their labour when they can either for free (or a small subscription fee) get a robot to do it for them, yk?
(I personally think AI could be useful tools for artists, but it shouldn’t ever be an end product)

I am very late to comment but yes!! Plagiarism is a massive issue, but if you make a generative AI program with permission from artists to use certain works and have a website detailing which art is used from who, the issue pivots from plagiarism to then ‘can massive corporations profit off of this?

Like idk there definitely are ways generative tools could help artists thru some processes but instead ppl jumped to ‘lets make a final product’ and I think thats really dumb tbh
Like i could see it being a tool to generate an idea and visual of something you want to comm and give as a reference
