Yes! You can use the eARC port if you have one on your TV and that’ll make all of your TV’s audio output go through the Apple TV then to the HomePods. I do that with my Switch and PS4, works great

I have mine paired as the default speakers for my Apple TV and I love them. Only complaint is that Siri can be finicky sometimes but that’s not the main thing I use them for so it doesn’t really bother me
