nowhere does it say that you won’t have any control over the neighborhood feature, it’s not even implemented yet so I doubt even bluesky knows 100% atp. just don’t use the discover feed if you don’t like the feature!
November 2, 2025 at 6:25 AM
don’t think the “neighborhood” feature is implemented yet so I can’t say for sure but you’ll probably be able to control if you’re in one or not

“Dislikes are private and the signal isn’t global”
November 2, 2025 at 6:11 AM
no, your content is absolutely the platform’s business the moment it gets uploaded, if you read the terms of service of basically anything on the internet that exists rn

also the major pro of Bluesky is that you can choose your algo/feed, who cares if somebody wants an algorithmic timeline
November 2, 2025 at 5:38 AM
then how exactly would you ever see stuff from people you don’t follow? a randomizer?
November 2, 2025 at 2:44 AM
god forbid we see stuff outside of people we follow
November 2, 2025 at 2:36 AM
yeah i’m sure the rest of the world is seeing bluesky stuff on the daily and i’m the dumbass in a twitter cocoon
November 1, 2025 at 5:00 AM
engagement doesn’t matter much when the audience is so tiny but u do u man
October 31, 2025 at 3:34 PM
I see tweets in like every facet of the internet even if you don’t use them, from articles, to podcasts, to YouTube videos to news channels, etc. bluesky? never
October 31, 2025 at 8:36 AM
good for you, but I can definitely say that’s not most people’s experience. within the people I know, they can be categorized into:

1. Never heard of it
2. Heard of it, but never used it
3. Used it, but stopped

Bluesky adding users just didn’t bring it cultural relevance (same thing with Threads)
October 30, 2025 at 6:55 PM
and how many people irl you know actually use, or even know bluesky? numbers going up doesn’t mean anything on its own
October 30, 2025 at 6:45 PM
I mean I think you don’t really need any big analysis to know why reporters stay there and don’t come here (or if they do, they always tweet more regularly): larger audience, bigger reach (especially via embeds), and it’s a platform everybody knows.

this is really sad to see; like a friend working on himself and improving, only to become addicted to drugs and crash out
October 28, 2025 at 4:27 AM
then set up a new space exclusively for widgets (that’s pretty much what Dashboard was anyway)
October 24, 2025 at 6:51 PM
i don’t really get what’s so different, layout wise. just set up a hot corner to go to the desktop and it’s pretty much the same thing
October 24, 2025 at 6:47 PM
you can literally get the Death Star one rn, just use the Photos widget
October 24, 2025 at 6:37 PM
