The optimistic view is that the org realized that tort’s style of coaching and management is no longer a path to success in the nhl and they pivot to a more modern approach to team building and style of play.
The pessimistic view is that they just replace torts with a younger and balder version.

It’s not really secession because you know they’ll still want the benefit of public services, they just don’t want to pay for them.

My first guess was that they cancelled because it’s owned by a Canadian company.
