Jonas💛Wout🖤Visma
2. In retrospect Jonas should not have raced tdf'24 as it set back his healing and has meant that he is only now back at pre-crash level. (but he himself wanted to and Visma agreed)

Jonas repeats a lot of things he has said before but interesting news is that :

1. Jonas and Visma have talked the Trine interview situation out and found solutions for next season (for his familie and Visma).

Yeah... I don't think Jonas would have talked so much about the Giro if he wasn't planning on riding it.
Is it possible that he will participate in the Giro route reveal? Or maybe the Giro organizers will announce Jonas' participation?

It's hard to disagree with Mads P here. It must be pretty uninspiring to ride show races.

But in the future, he'll look like a hypocrite if he rides them anyway for the big pay, so it's a bit unnecessary to say that to the media?

Yes. I didn't know him but just saw this video about him (about his '24 season as DS)...he seems like a guy who would fit in at Visma, I think

I agree.

Another reason that teams should communicate quickly about legal (and health) issues is that now people/media will start speculating about other riders who just "disappeared" without a word from the team.
And there could be reasons for that (private issues that are none of our business).

Totally agree!
This is the 3rd clickbait article I've seen that is written based on "Café Eddy podcast". which is a really good and relaxed Danish podcast with Brian Holm and guests. Apparently it's very easy to take a quote out of context and then translate it into another language...

You can't compare Merckx's time with today.
Back then, cycling was followed through newspapers and magazines. Maybe a little radio transmission and black and white clips on TV.
Dominance today is experienced differently. It is valid to think that it is unbearable to see a rider win 90%

To hard for him I guess...🤞
September 28, 2025 at 2:42 PM
Yes, and Sivakov, Almeida and Nils Politt😵‍💫
September 28, 2025 at 2:39 PM
That was my first thought as well.😂

He may go to help another UAE rider get the jersey😂
September 28, 2025 at 2:28 PM
Yeah...both Kim Andersen and Skjelmose should be smarter how they talk to media; look at this first "translated" Dutch article 🤨🤦‍♀️

Yeah Mads P has said he wants to go back and ride after stages in the tdf. (He didn't say exactly when.)
So good luck to Trek in keeping everyone happy.
September 26, 2025 at 9:06 PM
I partly agree...for a few years it was Mads P and Skelmose who primarily brought results for Trek, then they got (a) Lidl money and started buying Milan and Nys and now Ayuso.
But I am well aware that a rider is only worth his last result...
September 26, 2025 at 7:39 PM
More than two years ago I called Skjelmose Fuglsang v.2; Fuglsang only really became successful when he dropped his GT dreams and focused on one-day racing.

I hope Skjelmose will soon come to the same understanding.
September 26, 2025 at 7:24 PM
I agree 100%...but it's sad that Trek hasn't communicated with him properly...also regarding his position/opportunities at Trek in the future.
September 26, 2025 at 7:10 PM
Besides the lack of communication, it is noteworthy that Skjelmose makes such clear comments publicly.
He is making Trek and all other interested parties aware of the situation...and I'm sure everyone knows that his contact expires in a year.
September 26, 2025 at 7:07 PM
Yeah, but let's aim after a "Inside the Beehive: How we won the Giro and the Vuelta" 😀
September 26, 2025 at 2:55 PM
yeah...I just checked the mens WT '25 program and Renewi was only 5 days and gave 400 uci points. So probably same for Tour de Suisse next year.
September 25, 2025 at 12:40 PM
Surely then the race can't continue to be a WT one week race with 400-500 uci points?
Can it even be considered a WT race when it's only 5 days?
