True story: back in 2011 I was a screener for the National Poetry Series & I haven’t had to buy a binder clip since, & nor will I ever have to buy one again. #analogtimes #poetry

I turned 50 today + I’m grateful I get to teach poems + write poems + go for walks + eat Carvel cake. Hi from my office + the very institutional state u bathroom down the hall from my office because I taught today, too. Fight the power + hold each other close, friends. Tenacity, resistance, + cake.

Every time I enter an environment filled w/pple in helping professions—last week, my kid’s public school + today, the children’s hospital—I’m struck by the dissonance btwn the deep care taken inside these places to make sure all feel welcome + cared for, + the political rhetoric outside their walls.
