I never really explored her other novels, will have to give them a try. I agree she had a wonderful mind - one of her darker short stories about humans colonising a new grassland planet really stayed with me.

And it's such an overlooked series! I loved the second book even more, but this one made such an impression on me as a wee teen

Had this copy since the '90s when my non-horror loving sister bought it for me for Christmas, she knew me well! Speaking of which, yes 'The Wailing Well' is one of my faves, and 'Oh Whistle...' is perfection. Love 'The Story of a Disappearance and an Appearance' also, never did like Punch and Judy!

Definitely the best version, a classic classic
