Exactly!! Like I said, prison as a concept is waaay more nuanced than is capable of addressing in nearly any sort of fanfic. Especially ones where a romantic relationship is supposed to be the central focus, NOT the societal harm of prisons.

& then the 1st person to see her AS a person loses her mind when her mom dies & suddenly Vi is back to being just another "trencher"!!! Except she's "one of the good ones"...gross!!! Like realistically Vi should be just as mentally fucked as Jinx but the plot couldn't handle that :(

Strongly suggest looking into prison/er reformation/rehabilitation programs at the VERY least. Did you know prisoners can train service animals? Learn how to craft & make art? Work towards GED's & college? The whole point of them is to give prisoners access to tools they might not have had before.
