I presented the first screenshot from this thread showing his behavior toward her alongside the conversation that we had. They say that they did speak to him about his behavior, then just continued to downplay the issue.

Sorry, I'm confused. In the dm's they sent with strafe they're talking about whether or not they like muscles or other body types, yes?
They then said they didn't feel like it was sexual harassment, just weird, and that it hasn't happened since they expressed their age. Can you please explain in the messages between them and strafe what you're identifying as sexual
harassment? I don't mean to be dense, I just need clarification since I don't understand.

harassment and flirting, they didn't believe that's what was happening, and expressed that they didn't want it brought to mods. I don't see where they gave you permission to forward these to us after expressing several times that they didn't think it was sexual harassment and didn't want it brought up with mods.
From my perspective what you've presented is an awkward exchange happening when someone didn't know their age, in a place (dm's) where it is up to the individual how much of their personal details they share or who they interact with.

I absolutely agree that setting boundaries and having healthy communication is important, but not everyone is socially adept. Failing in those areas is, again, not automatically sexual harassment. It is ok to call it awkward and uncomfortable, it is ok to suggest someone approach a friendship carefully and warn them about feeling responsible for an older person's emotions. Those things are also not inherently emotional maniptulation.

I feel strongly about it because when I've been sexually abused in real life I wasn't taken seriously either. They told me it was my own fault too

I'm very sorry that happened, and I'm very sorry they wrongly blamed you for such an atrocious thing. I have personal experience too, which is why I'm very careful about labelling things as more extreme than they are.
Again, it's ok to warn someone about signs of grooming. It's ok to check that they're being healthy about who they're with. But jumping to emotional manipulation and sexual harassment is not how to approach every situation.
I understand this is very personal and likely very frustrating, and I'm genuinely sorry about that.

I'm afraid if that's the impression you've walked away with, our communication has not been effective.
The individual you spoke with said themselves they did not feel it was sexual harassment.
Strafe has been warned about how they come off, and we've made it clear to him we're not taking sides and expect better behavior.
I will not be pressured or guilted into jumping to a guilty verdict when I have been shown no proof.
I asked you to point out where in their convo there was sexual harassment. Responding with emotional accusations does not make something into what it is not.
We are not victim blaming – sexual harassment is extremely serious. We haven't been shown any, and will act as soon as we are, which we have told you numerous times.
Accusing us of bigotry when you cannot show us what you're claiming is something I won't stand. Name calling and flinging accusations does not do anything to protect the people in our community or the people who's dm's you're sharing.
I'm very sorry this has been emotional for you. I'm sorry I can't explain properly how we're here to help as soon as serious evidence can be shown.
Claiming that this means I don't care about my friends in the trans community hurts, but I cannot control how you feel.
I advise you leave our community if the standard we hold everyone to for proof of concerning behavior doesn't sit well with you.

Finding out he was targeting H, an underage user, pushed me over the edge.

i have to reiterate that you're asking me to take actions based on how someone is acting outside of the server that I moderate, which is against the policy we take unless there is egregious and sufficient evidence that not taking action would harm members of the server

based on the evidence provided, i can't say that's the case. stratego is acting strange yes, and your concerns are certainly valid about stratego being homophobic, however this is quite mild on the scope of possibilities that could have been presented to me. from my perspective here, not from any moderation perspective, i think that preferences aren't being communicated here. has it been requested of stratego prior to this to not use terms like "babe" "beloved" "sis" "sister" etc.? perhaps being more upfront with what you want will achieve the result you're looking for without having to resort to requesting a moderator to take action. in the event that it doesn't happen however, the ball is *entirely* in your court; as before, you can always block the person and keep it out of your hair. i know that discord gets ugly when you know someone you've blocked is talking and it wears on you ("what horrible things are they saying?" is a common thought, i know very well), but it is better than seeing things you don't want to see.

i do wish you the best in this matter, but fundamentally it's just not something we or the moderation team need to act on at this time; if in the server or more egregious evidence is presented, rest assured that we *will* take action as necesary

and as always, you can submit reports to discord directly on the offending message, if it is suffeciently bad as to require it. i don't see anything to indicate its necessity, but that's on you to choose of course

Hello Hannah. I feel that having Stratego on the server while being aware that he acts predatory toward multiple trans women who he meets on there is not. A great choice it's true that you cannot control what happens outside of the server, but you still knowingly have a homophobic sex pest on there where he can reach out to DM even more people and make his previous victims feel unsafe (including myself)

We don't moderate based on dm's or "he said she said" - it sets a dangerous standard that people's private conversations have to adhere to our rules, that we have to decide what accounts to trust, that we can ban or punish someone based on conversational evidence, etc. I understand that you're deeply connected to this case and that it may seem simple to you for us to act on it, but there have been many other behind the scene messy situations where people have actions they wish us to take to solve a problem outside the scope of the server. It's not a fair expectation, in my mind, to ask us to evaluate situations outside of the channels we've built and the server we've committed to keeping an eye on. It stretches our responsibility further than our authority goes. If there is ever actual hate speech or violent/explicit messaging, we can look into it if screenshots are provided. We do this if there are cases of slurs/ect that offer no room for interpretation and are purely hateful/demeaning. but otherwise, if someone makes you uncomfortable, our suggestion was previously and still is to block them.

He used his position as a mod in a fan art server for the Angel Hare series in his pursuit of trans girls, DMing the member X to ask if he knew whether or not member A was trans and then making romantic gestures at her while also acting in strange homophobic ways toward her and her interests
