I’m just saying maybe the first-order problem with business school research isn’t that it’s susceptible to pervasive fraud (though it is), it’s that the research questions & experimental designs are stupid as hell and shouldn’t be generously funded in the first place
The paper's first two key experiments, marked in the text as Studies la and Ib, looked at how the salt-and-paper ritual might help students sing a karaoke version of Journey's "Don't Stop Believin'" in a lab setting. According to the paper, Study la found that people who did the ritual before they sang reported feeling much less anxious than people who did not; Study lb confirmed that they had lower heart rates, as measured with a pulse oximeter, than students who did not.
