What's messed up is that our attention economy is fueled by outrage; if legacy media outlets simply reported truthfully, the outrage would pay dividends. You'd think the hyper-capitalist owners would realize they could make more profit by defying that orange schmuck than by bowing to him.

I saw a video from a cult survivor explaining that they'll never outright renounce MAGA, at least not for a long time. Instead, the ones that are finally seeing through the fog will "quiet quit." Even the loudest supporters might be privately realizing how bad they fucked up, but we'll see

While I understand your point and would generally agree, it's been ten years of this, AND we barely survived his first term. They knew he was out to harm. The onus is on them to do the work to help fix what they helped to destroy. Once they start actually pulling their weight, then we can talk.
