Tell me, what is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life? -- Mary Oliver
Expanded knowledge often leads to actions such as becoming involved in and supporting efforts to promote conservation and protection of the many bird species whose populations are dwindling. Hey Atlantic, maybe you could write about that.

What a steaming pile of horseshit, as is typical for The Atlantic. Why profile 2 bros whose only interest is in checking off species seen? I’ve been birding since childhood. Cornell Lab of Ornithology’s products—eBird and Merlin—have helped me sharpen my skills and expand my knowledge.

Same. I grew up in small town a rural state. Nearly all my male relatives, with the exception of my father, owned guns and hunted. Kids didn’t bring guns to school and no one encouraged them to do so. RFK Jr. is full of it.

Sigh. Again and again, every accusation is a confession. The Brennan Center just posted a nice short thread on the accuracy and security of voting by mail: bsky.app/profile/bren...
Mail voting is a secure way to cast a ballot that dates back to the Civil War. Election officials in every state use tested and multi-layered checks to ensure that mail voting is safe. 1/

Election officials use many checks to ensure mail voting is secure against widespread fraud and tampering.

Thank you for that. So glad to see that someone actually gets it. You’re right, it’s just another example of all the divisions that are used to try to pit us against each other. So sad to see people take the bait.

Maybe revisit Project 2025 for some clues, since that’s the blueprint for this admin. Scientific American had an article last summer: www.scientificamerican.com/article/proj...

Project 2025 would jeopardize federal scientists’ independence and undermine their influence

Huge thanks to you and to all the local organizers for your hard work. Taking part in my city’s No Kings protest and seeing the pics and videos from towns and cities across the country has given me hope. I’m more resolved than ever to fight for our democracy. Great job everyone!

They’re closing the SSA office in my state’s 2nd largest city. The next closest office is over 100 miles away. It’s about harming applicants & beneficiaries in terms of delays, travel costs, hassle, and anxiety, and harming SSA employees who’ll lose their jobs.
