The league set this mechanism to go into effect in July, and Trin is out of contract now. Is this their way of screwing the team and Trin over for getting creative with the cap? The spirit and Trin have to find a way to work out a six month contract before she gets property paid seems like.

Yeah, with health on defense, Makenna can be a full time forward but she signed two 1 year deals, I don't know which side wanted it that way, but I am interested to see if she signs for longer term this off-season.

I am worried. This team doesn't need more forwards if they can get healthy. So targeting forwards means Trin and Sarr are still far away. I hope those players get all the time in the world to get better, but I also just want them to be free.
Also, the Spirit should just go get Ovalle from Tigres.

Surely Rose will be on a less than 30 minutes type restriction that they have to go brown or Monday. We can't have her go straight back to the injury room next week.

I was hoping she'd take this camp off too. And with the international window coming after this weekend, I was hoping for the Spirit to roll the injury report over as is and continue to limit Trin whether the players are ready or not. Let's regroup after the international break.

Maybe we loan Shadia to Rayadas, they have an opening is she can beat out whoever Bernal and her CB was keeping on the bench.. Couple years in Mexico might be good for long term development for a Tara partner.

Wouldn't help much I think. The salaries of players out on loan is counted in the NWSL team's salary cap last I remember. Trin's salary would be too large for a loan. I think she'll just be transferring if she leaves (which I hope not).

If they hold the left left back in a more defensive areas, they can give her license to attack heavily. Exciting to think about.

With Hayes trying to make Shaw a false 9 at NT level, could this move help Shaw in that regard considering Nahas uses a false 9 system with Manaka and NCC has Sanchez to be a 10?

We have a lot of forwards. Someone could go on loan when Andi gets, and the team can make off-season decisions with some of their ending contracts. Ricketts should definitely go on loan to USLSL if minutes are hard to come by for her (hope she plays a decent amount). Krueger should be good cover.

Hopefully ownership don't create a situation where Vlatko feels he needs to play her when she's not earning on the training field or when it's not minutes to develop in less high stakes games. And hopefully Vlatko doesn't overcorrect the other and not play when she should. It's tightrope.

I hope so too, but we'll have to wait until Feb to find out. Europe-based players were not available for selection due to the camp being held outside of a fifa window.

Yeah, because that "C'mon do something" meme might be coming soon otherwise. The roster looks very good, but it's a center back short of "looks great". With reale signed, I hope we get Bornkamp or Elizabeth ball (1 or 2 year deal).

What roster building avenue should the spirit look for a center back in? Can they gamble a bit on college players for depth and long term prospect or should go someone like a Tatumn Milazzo in free agency, or internationally.
