How is it possible that the Leader of the Opposition needs to spend more than twice the Prime Minister?
November 5, 2025 at 10:51 PM
I know social democrats who did just that with the Liberals!

Well, perhaps that’s why he didn’t wait. His vote isn’t enough to shift that balance. They need at least two more of him. Pollievre is taking CPCs in a terrible direction.
I applaud Chris for saying enough is enough. For the record, I’ll never have the govt that I want, at least we have the MP.

Given the state of things in Alberta, I’d say PP is right where he belongs. I feel awful for my like-minded friends who are stuck with him AND Smith!

He’s been a progressive conservative far longer than CPC. I live in the provincial
riding he represented for 16 years before running for federal politics. He has always been very well liked.

Chris has always been a Progressive Conservative / red tory. I believe many who voted for him did so because of who he is and the way he represents our riding, not because he was a CPC. I don’t typically support either party, but he would have had my vote if he was Liberal.

I usually agree, but Pollievre is proving that he doesn’t learn from his mistakes. I know Chris well enough to know this was not an easy or quick decision for him.

I welcome it, and know several others who do as well.

He’s more likely to lose leadership after this.
November 4, 2025 at 11:34 PM
He just confirmed that he’s joining government caucus by text with Cochrane on air with CBC.

As one of those constituents I am certainly happy to here.
November 4, 2025 at 11:21 PM
He has always been Progressive Conservative. I suspect Mark Carney is enough of a blue Liberal that Chris’ red Tory views would align. Here’s hoping! 🤞🏻

Unfortunately there is no such thing federally. I wish that merger of years gone by would just splinter apart. Not that I’m a centrist - I would have voted for Charlie Angus every time, had I had the opportunity ;-) LOL

The electorate in his riding do NOT want another election. Most still equate Chris w/Progressive Conservatives of Nova Scotia, not PP’s version of CPCs. I would venture to guess most voted for him as an MP, not the party. He was the lone conservative in the Province.
November 4, 2025 at 10:51 PM
Agreed. And honestly, Carney is much more like a PC leader than the Liberals we’ve known since Martin. If Chris joins them, he’ll probably feel at home. As a constituent of his riding I welcome this. PP is SO toxic.

I think she’s making her plea to the wrong audience. 🤔

Once again the blame game in the midst of tragedy. It seems to be the norm. Do we think blame will put wildfire out? Surely crews are busy fighting fire?

On another note, I wonder if these guys (www.nytimes.com/2025/07/11/w...) are aware that wildfires burn in the states too? 🙄

Meanwhile in Nova Scotia we’re going to open up Uranium mining. 😡 I’m shocked Houston hasn’t joined his bff on the pipeline train yet so we can that refinery recommissioned 🙄 …
