Books, Cats, Politics, More Books.

Rights aren’t pie. Letting everyone have them doesn’t reduce your own.
I will willingly admit that I do not need more books in my house, however, a local non-profit was having a book sale and I am not a monster.

This guy strongly disapproves of daylight savings time, primarily due to getting breakfast an hour later than usual.

My cat has figured out the warmest spot in the house too, although she doesn’t quite fit.

This house is ready to go.

No, it was this one. Not a "vague skull."

The platonic ideal of working class white man cos-play.

This is the one I want most, although there were half a dozen that I'm in love with.

She’s working so hard to become a perfect sphere!

I have a lot of questions.

People got the message about the flags! #NoKings
October 18, 2025 at 5:12 PM
Ok, this protest is far bigger than previous ones. No chance findinding any of the people I planned to meet up with. Plenty of costumes, American flags, laughter, puppers and joy. #NoKings

Oh yeah!

The street for trick or treaters is one over from ours, so we get maybe 50 kids, so it's full size stuff over here, too. This is last year's bowl. Getting the candy from Costco and picking up the non-chocolate stuff wherever I see it on sale makes this a pretty cheap eventing.

Happy Indigenous Peoples Day! It’s the perfect day to buy a book by an Indigenous author or start that book you already own.

Sometimes these stupid cartoons hit a little close to home.

IMPORTANT UPDATE!
September 27, 2025 at 8:56 PM
Need to have a talk with my cat about how late she stays in bed. Her productivity levels are very low!#Caturday

I’m not signing up for that! I was led to believe that not only would we be wearing clothes, we’d be wearing groovy outfits.

Day two! A little rainy, but there’s a wood-fired pizza oven staffed by the neighborhood dads, kids running around and the music is excellent.
September 20, 2025 at 7:32 PM
So every September my neighborhood gets together and everyone who wants plays music. And it’s really a fresh breath of reality, sitting out here with good neighbors, listening to music of various styles and skill levels.

If you want a good book that will make you look up and wonder where the hours went, look no further. #BookSky

If you're in or near Minneapolis and need a break from *gestures broadly* I'd like to recommend going to the Mary Sully: Native Modern at MIA. It's gorgeous and admission is free and I've been thinking about it for almost a week now. It closes on the 21st, so don't put it off.

Finally got to visit Birchbark Books in Minneapolis and I highly recommend it. Minneapolis has a ton of great independent bookstores and I hope you Minneapolisians all appreciate that (by spending lots of money on books).

Mary Sully, a Dakota artist, did incredible work with just color pencils and inexpensive paper. Go make your own art!
