NuVinci is a 360% gear ratio to the Rohloff's 526%. The NuVinci is great for a commuter or hybrid, but can't touch Rohloff's granny gears for big climbs. It's basically the difference between 1x8 and modern 1x12 cassettes.

I have a Rohloff/Gates combo on my Jones Plus. 526% gear ratio and almost zero drivetrain maintenance over the course of 7 years. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the Rohloff Speedhub.

If you decided to throw a CYC X1 Pro Gen4 on a Jones HD/e with a 72v battery and a beefy enough controller you could get that thing to 50 mph. The catch is that 50 mph on a bicycle weighing 60 or 70 lbs is terrifying. And you'd probably be going through chains and cassettes pretty regularly.
