📣Event Alert📣

The High Court is due to rule on the Strand Road Cycle Route case on Friday 11th April. Whatever the result we want to see the route progress without delay.

Join us at 6pm on the 11th at Grand Canal Square for a cycle along the route to demand safe cycling infrastructure.

Days like today make my cycle commute an absolute joy.

With the world going to hell in a hand-basket, it's good to notice & be appreciative of the progress being made in some quarters, like the now car-free Sallins to Naas greenway. Kudos to Kildare CoCo for advancing this

Urbanism is the radical idea that people who are not in cars still count as people.

@kildarenow.bsky.social @kildarelive.bsky.social is Kildare County Council working to keep our pedestrians and cyclists safe on icy roads?
As well as working to make our roads safer, Council crews have also been clearing & treating footpaths & cycle lanes in the county's towns to make these safer for pedestrians & cyclists & other active travel users as we transition from snow & slush to a prolonged icy spell.
Caution is still advised!

A bicycle the whole family fell in love with: “We decorate it for Halloween and Christmas, and fret when we leave it locked in public places”
Comment & Analysis: After moving back to Naas, buying a cargo bike has allowed Dr Elaine McGoff to transport her two girls, Naoise (11) and Zoë (8), around the town while staying as a one-car f…

I was discussing the An Bord Pleanala decision to refuse the Blessington Greenway on @kfmradio.bsky.social earlier today.

In short, I believe they made the right decision, questions were asked on water quality and bird impacts and no adequate answers were given.

I'll pin the Irish greenway map to the top of my feed if people are interested in it.

I've tried over the last year or two to minimise my non-Youtube social media exposure, but I will now be doing so on Bluesky instead of the artist formerly known as Twitter
