I would and do pick a Tesla over any ICE car. They are much safer in an accident and most importantly when it comes to avoiding accidents. See EuroNCAP official safety testing. Relative to others, Tesla is #1. That's a fact.

You got a point, I did not know that. Considering how otherwise safe Tesla's are, I don't understand this reasoning. Only way to quickly free someone is to break the window and pull mechanical release inside. Not ideal!

Tesla Model 3 and Y have a manual outside handle to pull on. The others don't, but this also applies to other manufacturers, like Mercedes E-Class cars.

When inside and in the front seat, I would consider getting out of a fire in a Tesla "failsafe" because of the prominently placed manual latch. Not so in rear seats...
