The starting point is the same in every scenario: measure skills better.
Know what people can do, what evidence backs it, where gaps are, and how AI agents can complement those gaps. If this is inevitable, the only strategic move is to start now.

Here’s the uncomfortable truth: the tech side will scale anyway. Even if models hit speed bumps, integration keeps spreading into non tech work. The real bottleneck is the workforce’s ability to adapt.

Scenario D: Stalled Progress
AI advances incrementally + people aren’t ready.
Short term cost pressure blocks transformation. Productivity gains concentrate in regions and companies with expertise.

Scenario C: Co Pilot Economy
AI advances incrementally + people are ready.
Less hype, more pragmatic integration. Focus on augmentation over mass automation. Displacement still happens, but it’s manageable.

Scenario B: Age of Displacement
AI advances exponentially + people aren’t ready.
Companies automate aggressively due to talent gaps. Unemployment arrives faster than reskilling.

Scenario A: Supercharged Progress
AI advances exponentially + people are ready.
Productivity and innovation explode. Many jobs vanish, new ones scale fast, and humans become “agent orchestrators.”

for me, the idea of structuring and formatting texts keyboard-only was fundamental for my adoption of markdown. iA Writer as an app that pushed me in that direction. Markdown, iA Writer, and my Keychron are part of my routine.

The goal is simple:
At any moment, see who can best solve which problems, in real time.

Transparency without clustering creates overload.
Clustering without transparency creates a black box.

Second: dynamically cluster information so humans can actually understand it.
January 18, 2026 at 12:06 PM
First: make skill meaning explicit by showing contexts, related skills, and challenges.

This is not incompetence.
It’s cognitive overload.

The deeper they go, the more complexity they uncover, and the effort grows non linearly.

In practice, they feel lost because each skill hides a fractal of interpretations.

Normalization is not about control.
It’s about creating a shared language for action.

If the system cannot reconcile this, it cannot compare, measure, automate, or decide.
