I have it on PS5, updated and it crashed a few times throughout my playthrough. Especially when entering or exiting the levels. Otherwise, solid game.

Just to be clear, firmware upgrades via discs are still a thing, right? Like when newer games on disc force you to upgrade as they have the newer firmware on disc.

Yeah for some reason the PAL version seems to use an early version of the title art. I do prefer Specter's voice in PAL though.

I just received their limited edition GBA Shantae game and can confirm the cartridge can be played offline. Didn't need to connect my GBA to the internet.

I get it now. Can't think of any benefits other than being cheaper than a real physical version if one exists or sometimes they're sold for cheaper than in the Eshop. I'm not a fan and it's a waste of plastic IMO.

It has certain advantages over digital like the license not being tied to an account that can be closed by the console manufacturer at any moment. But it doesn't offer any benefits over physical games that are fully on disc.
