I bought one as a gift for my partner a few months ago and we have not once had enough money since to buy a new game for it. Saw donkey Kong on a heavy discount for £50. That's how much brand new games cost not long ago.

Mine was 1100 a month and that was considered pretty good. I think apprentices do better than that now.
