Sounds like you don’t like the argument that Penny is post-facto more justified bc the jury acquitted his manslaughter charge. To me that’s a huge difference between the two cases. No jury would acquit the CEO assassin

I can appreciate that a strong need for self defense is a valid reason to kill. What do you think of Neely's behavior on the subway? Multiple witnesses reported him screaming about death and lunging at passengers including a mother and child. Definitely terrifying but not yet physically violent

In the Penny case the mentally ill guy was instigating and scaring the people around him. He was seemingly not in control of himself. It strikes me as a different type of “getting killed”

Be6+ looks like it’ll win you the b2 pawn, (if Kh8 then Rd2). The resulting position looks winning since you should be able to trade the rook for pawn + bishop and end up in a winning King and pawn endgame. Idk if there’s something more direct
