New Fountain Pen Day! Moonman A1. Yes, a cheap Chinese version of the Pilot Vanishing Point. I see a VP in my future as long as I’m happy with the odd placement of the clip (between thumb & index finger when writing). Trying that out on a $20 version seems smart.

In 1903, the Town of Arlington Mass built a public elementary school & had “Dedicated to Good Citizenship” carved in stone above the door. Looking to return to traditional values? Here’s one. But I’d also suggest that good citizens shouldn’t empower grifters, theocrats, and wannabe oligarchs.

My latest fountain pen is a Lamy Safari with a fine nib. Feels great in my hand, but writes like a medium, not fine.

I’m gradually exploring the world of under $50 fountain pens, starting with the Pilot Metropolitan. I also bought a couple Pilot Varsity pens, because the idea of a disposable fountain pen intrigues me. I’ve already ordered a Lamy Safari and I’m looking at TWSBI ECO next.
