Assad has returned to Damascus and is busy calling all the leaders in this photo (Riyadh last month), pleading for support. My guess is it’s all “who dat, new phone.” Things change fast.

This feels like a Dunkirk moment. May/June 1940. BEF survivors brought off the beaches and safely home, to gather themselves for ultimate victory. Stay the course.
