Three of my uncles and my father in law, were Anti-fascism fighters in WWII. They are my heroes!
Shopped for my wife today. Tomorrow we celebrate 46 years married.

Went to Buchheit’s (farm store) to buy her a shirt and some heavy warm house socks.

Then called my daughter who makes jewelry at her home shop.

Sophisticated and country seems to keep us connected!

Two mornings in a row, I get a picture of this buck.

Gotta love country living!

While a student, in 76, at UW Madison, my dad and I were discussing management strategies on pasture and hay ground. I was all about yield, tons per acre and fertilizer applications. My dad said, “son why do you want to buy nitrogen?”

He would have loved this white clover and fescue field!

Had a bad track on a mini excavator. Called my wife and asked if she would accept this as a tree bed for the yard. We have a Sycamore sapling to plant in it once I get filled with soil this week!

Recycling damaged equipment parts is a thing!

Our catfish ponds are 5 acres and rectangular with a flat bottom. 5-6 feet deep. Tractors on both sides drag the seine up into a corner then we hand load into a boom basket to load trucks.

My first combine was a used 1973 Gleaner K. Paid $12,000.00 for it. Came with a 3 row 36 inch corn head and a 12 ft grain header.

Combine is gone but the young lady on the side of the truck is still running strong!

My daughter and son in law started a new beef herd. 45 Charolais and Red Angus heifers bred to Red Angus bulls.

They purchased my mom and dad’s house after they both passed away.

My dad loved it that my family loved these green hills and another generation continues that love!

Eagle watching for rabbits as soybeans are harvested. He missed one rabbit! The rabbit was running every which way like Walter Payton!

My next read arrived. You shared you were reading and I ordered it. James being one of favorites.

I find your “mapping” of where we are vs where we should be, on target with my American evangelical experience.

Getting the corral ready for a new herd of bred heifers to arrive Monday.

Working chute and sweep tub ready for no cussing cattle handling!

Yesterday my wife and I discussed the child deaths in the generations of our grand parents and great grandparents. The count was several.

We have a daughter we named after my grandmother’s child that died at 11 months. She loved that baby girl so much and we wanted to honor her Jacqueline.

I found a guy that provides an on farm, clean and detail vehicles service. He is working on a deckboat I want to sell.

He showed up in his custom low rider, set his shade tent up and cleaned the boat back to new!

The guy or gal service industry, that get things done, is a thing!

First corner post that I have set in 25 years. All the fences out in 2000 and now we are putting them back.

Sometimes reinvention is a circle!

“The Rib Doctor” is a customer at Ponderosa Pay Ponds. He has been fishing since 5:30 AM and caught 3 nice catfish. He says this is “the spot” where he does his best praying!

When we have community fishing days he brings his grill and cooks for us.

What an awesome man!

I checked my home library yesterday. This was probably on the shelf for 30 years. I do not remember reading it.

In the trash.

Doe taking a dip in the pond in front of our house. Cool off, shrug horse flies and get a drink!

She has done this the last two days. It is hot in Western KY!
