Similar happened to me in March. Optician referred me to treatment centre, who referred me to appropriate surgical unit. Phoned by consultant 8pm and told to be on ward by 12 noon next day for surgical prep. Surgery successful. Travel expenses paid by NHS, cost to me £0. NHS Scotland. :)
