Trump’s tariffs are intended to spur manufacturing and raise some funds. But the side effects are terrible: economic disruption around the world, a return to nasty supply chain issues, higher inflation, higher prices, higher mortgage rates, higher unemployment. He’s headed in the wrong direction.
