Tariffs/trade issues aside, what’s shocking is how all the farmers quoted here receive massive federal assistance to operate! $100k grant to start a business, $50k grant to spread mulch, money for seeds, equipment, etc. etc. Trump campaigned on slashing gov’t spending!

Georgia is ground zero for this. A bill in the state legislature that would make data centers pay for the electricity generation they need is being strongly lobbied against by our large utilities. GA Power also wants to keep coal plants burning past their planned retirements to power data centers.

Would love to see some analysis alongside the sniping quotes. How does fundraising under Rep. Williams compare to her predecessors? Where is the party putting that money? Is it unusual for a member of Congress to be state party chair or is that how it’s been for years?
