They're now ~ 7% of GDP. Trump wants tax cuts that will make that worse, not better. Musk's DOGE wants to cut $1 trillion in spending but that will be popular stuff like Medicare and defense. Congress won't do it.

2/ GDP growth ~ baseline forecasts are for 1.9% GDP growth the next 10 years. Getting to 3% would require a radical productivity boom, or a lot more immigration, or something magical
