I wrote Getting What I Deserve to create an engaging story about emotional bullying.

What didn’t I expect? The readers who wrote back: “I was Charlie.”

So, I’m relaunching the book—with resources for classrooms, families, and librarians.

My latest book trailer - starting to gear up for a busy year of book festivals, promotions, advertising (or rather, trying to understand the advertising game!) #booktrailer

I was honored to show #Australian author Scoota D Kendesh Los Angeles during visit promoting his new #thriller RIVKA. Set in #Brisbane in the 80s & 90s, it's intense but relatable and heartbreaking. My interview with him will air/stream on Radio KCLA 100.7 San Pedro shortly! www.scootakendesh.com

I generally don't share Fiverr reviews, but this one symbolizes why I offer #writing services online - and why writers should consider putting their "superpower" to work for the greater community. Most people aren't writers but nevertheless have something to say. You can help them.

My foray back into in-person bookselling will begin here in Santa Clarita at our upcoming Book Festival! Where else should I go?

Yesterday, I visited the National World War II Museum in New Orleans. I know the facts fairly well, but what was especially moving was an area dedicated to the values it represented. I kept thinking of the George Santayana quote: “Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.”

One of my goals this year is to get back "on the road" again - book festivals, interviews, and more school visits. I had fun a few years back, and it's time to rev up the engines again! I already have a couple of things just about lined up...stay tuned!

My books plus my #ghostwriting projects!

Someone sent me an article, "An AI Wave Will Sweep Through Hollywood's VFX Systems in 2025" - so I decided to get out of town 😜

In addition to ghostwriting, I sometimes edit birthday and memorial videos for Fiverr clients. I'm given perhaps 200 photos and am asked to summarize a life well-lived. It's both inspiring and sobering. Ancient philosophers called awareness of mortality "Momento Mori"

One of my favorite reviews from last year. It makes me feel vaguely subversive, especially these days! 😉

In a world where books show hundreds of reviews, this may not seem like much, but to me, this milestone is huge! 50!! Nice way to start the year! Now, if I could only figure out marketing....

I love writing my own books, but I love #ghostwriting just as much. This year on #Fiverr, I've had the privilege of helping clients bring ideas to reality in multiple genres: rhyming books for children, memoirs, thrillers, horror, scifi...I'm excited about the adventures coming my way in 2025!

Years ago, my parents gave me a New Year's card that never expires.

When I wrote "Getting What I Deserve," I hoped for it to be a relevant, relatable book for middle schoolers experiencing bullying. I wrote the book description and my ads with that assumption. In the months since, something unexpected happened--

As I redesign my marketing effort for "Getting What I Deserve" for the new year (more on that soon), I'm also exploring fun ways of promoting my reviews. What do you think of this experiment? #writers #indieauthors

I'm still learning the marketing game, and reviews like this can keep me motivated to find out the right way for this book to reach the audiences it deserves. If you believe in your book, don't get discouraged if you don't see ROI (return on investment) - it takes time!

Exciting Announcement! "Getting What I Deserve" has just been recognized by @indiebrag.bsky.social as an outstanding #YoungAdult novel! Recognition for this book is especially meaningful and will help build awareness. Thank you for your support! #indiebooks !!

First time in a Waymo driverless car…navigated through downtown traffic flawlessly…a minor hiccup when it couldn’t decide where to drop us off - but otherwise…we survived!

How old were you when you realized you were a #writer?

I re-discovered one of Sam Rapp's pix for SoupChad, which I missed putting in the book. The book's about a boy who loves soup and bullies kids who like salad. It's an allegory about acceptance—a word that earned me a weird accusation of "indoctrination." "Acceptance" is a bad word now, I guess.

This kind of amazes me. Five of these books are mine, and the three others are books I've ghostwritten (the beginning of my "ghost shelf") If you choose your projects carefully, ghostwriting is great fun. Writers, don't hesitate to use your "superpowers" to help others. It supports your writing!

Finally, in my week-long review of my books is this nonfiction guidebook to my success on #Fiverr as a freelance writer. I hope some of you will consider putting your writing "superpower" to work for you. In addition to standard business writing, I'm a #ghostwriter in at least five genres...
